Some people have heard of “Buy Here Pay Here” (BHPH) car lots, to others it’s a completely new car world. A lot of people, especially in today’s economy, are turning to BHPH dealerships because they can get easier financing, less hassle with sales people and generally just need a car or truck that will run good to get from work to home. There is a lot of confusion out there on the difference between BHPH and new car dealers so in the following post I’ll try and discuss some Buy Here Pay Here basics.
What is “Buy Here Pay Here Financing”?
Getting financed at a BHPH dealership means that you are arranging a loan through the BHPH car lot. You make payments at the car lot you purchased the vehicle from. Basically it is referred to as “In-House Financing” vs getting financed at a bank through a new car dealership.
For example, at Regal Car Sales we will set you up on a weekly or bi-weekly payment plan instead of the traditional month to month plan.

When you visit Regal, we will sit down and figure out how much you can get financed for. Once we have that figure we will then walk out to the car lot and show you the options that you qualify for. There is no pressure to put you in a vehicle you can’t afford. At traditional new dealerships, you pick the car you want and get financed through a 3rd party lender. Usually you know how much you are financed for before you even step foot on the lot. Then you get pressured by the salesmen because they have quota’s and other incentives that put more money in their pockets.
Another difference is that we are selling a company brand. When Regal sells a vehicle, we are not selling you a Ford or a Saturn, we are selling Regal.
